Three ways to play

Easy enough for your first morning

You do not need a teacher to make a bowl sing. Pick one technique and practice for two minutes.

  1. 1

    Strike

Hold the bowl in an open palm or rest it on the cushion. Tap the outer rim once with the side of the mallet for a clear bell-like tone.

    Best for grounding

  2. 2

    Rim Rub

Warm the bowl with a light strike, then press the wooden side of the mallet against the rim and circle slowly with steady pressure until it sings.

    Best for sustained tone

  3. 3

    Water Bowl

Add a few centimeters of water and rim the bowl. Tiny droplets will leap from the surface as the resonance builds, a centuries-old visual.

    Best for focus practice

Description

This Nepalese-style singing bowl is individually hand-hammered from solid brass, giving each piece its own unique texture and tonal character. The hand-hammered surface creates visible hammer marks, a hallmark of handmade craftsmanship.

When struck or rimmed with the included wooden mallet, the bowl produces a deep, sustained resonance well suited for meditation, yoga sessions, and sound healing practice. Each set comes complete with a wooden mallet, cushion, and carry bag.

Available in seven sizes from 8cm (mini) to 20cm (professional). Larger bowls produce deeper, longer-lasting tones preferred for sound healing, while smaller bowls are ideal for personal meditation or travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are two techniques. Striking: hold the bowl in your open palm or place it on the cushion, then gently strike the outer rim with the mallet to produce a clear tone. Rimming: after a light strike to warm the bowl, press the mallet firmly against the outer rim and move it slowly clockwise with steady pressure. The bowl will begin to sing with a sustained tone.

Singing bowls are used for meditation, sound therapy, yoga, stress relief, and mindfulness practice. The sustained vibrations help promote calm, focus, and deep relaxation. They are also used in sound healing sessions, either individually or in group settings.

This bowl is hand-hammered from solid brass, an alloy of copper and zinc. The hand-hammering process gives each bowl a unique texture with visible hammer marks and its own distinct tonal quality.

For personal meditation, 11–13cm bowls offer a clear, focused tone and are easy to hold in one hand. For sound healing sessions or group use, 15.5–20cm bowls deliver deeper, more powerful vibrations. Mini 8cm bowls are great for travel or desk use.

Look for visible hammer marks on the surface (machine-made bowls are perfectly smooth), a warm metallic finish, a sustained tone that rings for several seconds after striking, and noticeable weight for its size. This bowl is hand-hammered and weighs between 180g (8cm) and 1.7kg (20cm) depending on size.
